Perfection
I am not a perfectionist, but House, episode 28, is entitled Perfection nonetheless, and is posted in an on-time sort of way. | | Thursday, May 27th, 2004 | 12:29 am [petevg] |

Exposition
Topic for discussion: Science Fiction and Fantasy require, in general, more exposition than most genres; a good part of the story must be dedicated to buiding an alternate world. Exposition, in general, sucks to write. It's dry, flat, boring, and it is difficult to weave it smoothly into the story. Case in point: in the latest episode of House, I have to explain why Jean is unaffected by Midas' golden touch. So. Opinions solicited. Which bugs you less: expository dialogue, or expository paragraphs here and there in the text? Both have their flaws. I'm debating which to use more heavily in "House" (the latest episode has a healthy mix of both, being, basically, an expository episode). | | Friday, April 30th, 2004 | 10:32 pm [petevg] |

Strongman House, episode 24, Strongman is up (as of three hours ago -- a bit behind on the posting here). And taxes are done. So all is well in the world. Current Mood: cheerful | | Wednesday, April 7th, 2004 | 10:55 pm [petevg] |

Creative Commons License
In order to post fiction based on one of my stories here, you'll need to license it under an "Attribution-Share Alike" Creative Commons LicenseI'd recommend doing so by including the following HTML near the top of your post:
The following story is licensed under an <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/1.0/">"Attribution-Share Alike" Creative Commons License</a>
By sure to include author credits for yourself, as well as for any of the author(s) upon whose work you are basing the story. Basically, make it look something like this:
Cat and the Three Blind, Vengeful Mice written by Jose Chung based upon characters created by PeteVG
The following story is licensed under an "Attribution-Share Alike" Creative Commons License
"That's right," said Blind Mouse Number One, brandishing his cleaver high as he advanced on Cat. "It's payback time..." And so on... Important: If you post fiction based on House or any other ThousandNights story here and you do not include an attribution-share alike Creative Commons license at the top I will a) not read through the rest of the post, b) scold you, and c) delete your post if you don't fix it promptly after the scolding. Why? Because you'd be illegally publishing a derivative work based on my copyrighted stuff, and that would irritate me to no end. ~ PeteVG | 8:46 am [petevg] |
First Post
So I really need to get to work, but over the next few weeks/months, this is going to (hopefully) become an active community for Thousand Nights. Specifically, this is a place to discuss "House" and post "House" stories. More to come later... Current Mood: awake |
